Award for physics school lab

The physics lab for school students (PSI: Die Physik Schülerlabor Initiative) was awarded 1,000 Euro in the "Energie für Bildung" (energy for education) contest. The Gasversorgung Süddeutschland (GVS, South-German gas supply company) supports projects to sustainably promote the interest of children and adolescents in natural sciences.

Jens Niegemann wins second prize for oral presentation at PECS VIII

At PECS VIII, Jens Niegemann wins CUDOS Oral prize for (second) best oral presentation for his talk Simulation of Plasmonic Systems using a Discontinuous Galerkin Time-Domain Approach. The prize value was AUD250.

Paolo Longo wins poster prize at TaCoNa Photonics 2008

On the TaCoNa Photonics conference in Bad Honnef, 3 - 5 december 2008, Paolo Longo was awarded one of two "best poster prizes" for his poster "Few-Photon-Quantum Transport Through A Photonic-Crystal Waveguide With A Two-Level System".

Daniel Hermann wins poster award at PECS-VII

On the PECS-VII conference in Monterey, California, Daniel Hermann was awarded a 3rd prize for his poster "Actively Tunable Photonic Crystal Functional Elements Based on Optically Anisotropic Materials".
